To All Members,

We had a fantastic event last night and thank you to all who joined.   A special thank you to Frank Liantonio for arranging use of the C&W event space and coordinating an impressive array of hors d’oeuvres.  I am also very pleased to say that to date we have had strong support and have collected 18 of 45 annual membership dues.  If you have not paid yet, please forward your checks to our Trustee and Secretary Mr. Gary Rufrano at 89 5^th St, Garden City.

I have a few "selfies" I took last night for our new website... shout out to Sal Ciaravino, Trustee and Membership Chair for coordinating this great new feature!!! Sal will be sending a separate email outlining the website's features and how to access information through your personal log-ins.

Finally, if any of the Members have thoughts on a special Charitable Foundation that GCRE can support at this year's Annual Fundraiser (October 2019), please submit to your thoughts/ideas to Frank Liantonio, Our Trustee and Chairperson of the Charitable Committee or to the Co-Chairs, Ms. Lauren Scarantino or Ms. Amanda Kinney.

Our next event will be held in Garden City for convenience when the weather breaks.  More details on this upcoming “Special” event to follow…..you will NOT want to miss it.

Over the past 2 years, the Board of Trustees has funded the costs of operating the Foundation, today we need your help.  We have established an annual membership fee of just $250.00 to help cover administrative costs and hope that you can support this.  

 

Finally, the Board has appointed Trustee Sal Ciaravino as the Membership Chairperson.   Membership is open to those persons our Members feel would be a welcome addition to our group, are current residents of Garden City and are active in the commercial real estate business in any facet.   Please pass this information onto your relatives and neighbors directly or simply send the contact information to Sal and he will follow up directly.  Sal can be reached at gcrepf@gmail.com

MRA plans turnaround at Macy's department store

Good deal sourcing is difficult these days.   It takes lots of energy and creativity to be successful.   This MACYS is connected to a brand new outdoor life style mall developed 5 years ago by Simon Properties, it’s a really beautiful project.  Through contacts and close relationships I was able to secure a major tenant to lease the entire ground floor of what will be a VACANT BOX while in contract which made this deal financeable in an otherwise “tricky” retail environment.  

The message is; hard work and track record always pays off, but relationships are critical to your business success. Let’s remember to use the relationships we are forming at the GCRE to help raise money for great causes and create new bonds amongst our members that can be helpful to our careers in the future. 

For those of you who may have been out of town for the long weekend and just catching up, GCRE got some nice press in this past Friday’s GC NEWS highlighting our successful Cocktails For a Cause Charity event at the Garden City Hotel on Friday, October 19^th to benefit Charlies Champions Foundation.
