On Wednesday, October 21st, the Garden City Real Estate Professionals Foundation (GCRE) hosted their first “in-person” charitable cocktail event of the year at the Garden City Country Club and presented gifts to THE INN and MOLLIES FUND.   Each foundation was presented a check by the GCRE Board of Trustees and Executive Committee in the amount of $5,000 to support their on-going operations during these challenging times.  These funds were raised through the generous donations of GCRE’s 62 members.  Earlier this year GCRE also presented checks to NYU Winthrop Hospital in the amount  of $12,500.00 during the peak of the pandemic to support first responders of the Hospital in their effort to service the needs of Garden City Residents and the surrounding community,   These funds were also raised by the GCRE Members via ZOOM virtual networking events.

THE GCRE was established over 5 years ago to support philanthropic causes important to the residents of Garden City and important charitable foundations that support the Village and the overall community.   THE INN and MOLLIES FUND are excellent examples of two great charitable foundations that need and more importantly deserve our assistance said Joseph A. Farkas, President and Founding Trustee of the GCRE.  I am very proud of the work our Members do on behalf of our beloved community and look forward to continuing GCRE’s efforts in 2021 during more stable times.

The INN (Interfaith Nutrition Organization) works to overcome hunger and homelessness in a dignified manner for all those in need.  For more information on THE INN go to www.the-inn.org.  Mollies Fund promotes skin cancer prevention and education pertaining to this deadly and highly serious form of cancer.  For more information on Mollies Fund go to www.molliesfud.org.

From Lynn Drucker, Assistant Vice President:

"I wanted to share that this past week the efforts of The Garden City Real Estate Foundation were deeply appreciated by so many of our Hospital staff and me too!  I am sending along a few photos and some words from one of our Nurse Manager."

From Jessica Kirk, Nurse Manager, Hoag 1:

“Please tell the donor that we are truly grateful for all the kindness and support.  It is so nice for the staff to be able to focus on patient care, and when their break time comes to have the time to be able to see that they are not alone in this.  There are people like this donor, in our community that care, see the value of the work they do each day, and appreciate them.  We are truly grateful for every meal and every gesture of appreciation.”
